Engagement Week In Las Vegas

Engagement Week In Las Vegas

Welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada (or sin city as some like to call it). We flew out there on Sunday, March 20, 2016 and stayed until Thursday March 24, 2016 at the Golden Nugget.

Golden Nugget

Michael Jackson ONE Cirque Show

We got in around 10 in the morning, so we spent most of the day walking around Fremont Street waiting until we could check in. I think we got in around 1pm and then spent the afternoon checking out the shark pool and then getting ready to see the Michael Jackson One Cirque du Soleil. It was really good, but I wish I was able to see some of the other shows too!

Hoover Dam

Lake Mead

Monday morning we had a scheduled tour to see the Hoover Dam. We should’ve bought the additional package that would’ve taken us to see the Grand Canyon, but I didn’t want to commit too much time to a schedule. Sometimes schedules are too overwhelming when you’re trying to relax. Even the tour we chose was around 4-5 hours which stopped at Lake Mead and a chocolate factory.

The Venetian

My favorite day was the end of the day Monday. I had planned for us to get there to go on a Venetian Gondola ride through the “Grand Canal” within the hotel. Zack surprised me and proposed as soon as the gondolier took off. The gondolier cheered to all the people staring at us that “she said yes” and “they’re engaged” and the crowd cheered back and clapped. I was embarrassed and excited all at the same time.

The Ring

Here are some extra pictures that were taken in downtown Las Vegas, Heart Attack Grill and the Bellagio Gardens:

Downtown Las Vegas

Freemont Street

Heart Attack Grill

Bellagio Gardens

Expenses:
Flights and Hotel: $946.16
Cirque du Soleil: $178.32
Hoover Dam Tour: $150.82
Food & Alcohol: $233.33
Taxi & Bus Pass: $76.34
Extras: $84 for Gondola Ride at the Venetian, $25 for Picture from Gondola ride, $7.02 for a deck of cards from The Venetian
Parking: $35
Total: $1735.99

The extras were worth it to us because the price of the gondola was for a private boat ride. Why have two strangers with us when he was planning to pop the question? Also, they had photographers there and we got a picture that captured us immediately after something entirely special to us. I would’ve never paid for one of the pictures if it hadn’t been such a memorable moment. And the deck of cards have The Venetian listed on the back. I don’t own a deck of cards, but that is a great memento for years to come!
