Palm Royale: The Fabulous Retro Outfits of Palm Beach

I have been watching Apple TV+ Palm Royale and find it to be such a fantastic escape. From the costumes, the sets and hilarity of the cast is a treat. How adorable is Kristin Wiig in the cute mini dresses and big hair? She looks great with a spray tan, haha. I’ve never been to Palm Beach, but I’d love to visit during this era!

Maxine Simmons

Kristen Wiig portrays Maxine Dellacorte Simmons, a cunning woman who manipulates her way into Palm Beach’s elite circles. Despite her facade, Maxine hides a humble origin as an orphan from Chattanooga, Tennessee, who briefly tasted fame as a beauty pageant winner. Desperate for a taste of true luxury, she navigates the superficial world of Palm Beach, concealing her past beneath a veneer of glamour and sophistication.

Season 1 Episode 1 – Pilot

Outfit 1 (4 minute mark)

Maxine wears a vintage a-line mini Lilly Pulitzer dress with an orange satchel and cream head scarf.

Outfit 2 (12 minute mark)

Maxine wears blue capri pants with a pink and white tie-waist plaid sleeveless top. She dons a scarf on her head as she goes through Norma’s closet.

Outfit 3 (35 minute mark)

Maxine is wearing a peach sleeveless sheath dress with mock neckline and minimalist design. She paired it with a green tote on the seat next to her.

Outfit 4 (45 minute mark)

Maxine is wearing wearing emerald green open toe block heel sandals, a pretty pink and green printed maxi dress and has a hot pink satchel.

Season 1 Episode 2 – Maxine’s Like a Dellacorte

Outfit 1 (3 minute mark)

Maxine wears a green and white geometric print dress with matching cape. She also is wearing metallic gold peep toe block heeled sandals. She has on 3-tiered green bauble earrings. The dress is actually a vintage piece from Bill Blass White and Green Silk Dress with Zig Zag Pattern.

Outfit 2 (5 minute mark)

Navy blue and gold silk brocade top and palazzo pants. The blue dress in the image below is from here and the black and gold option is here. A good search term is “silk brocade lehenga” which brings up a lot of Indian styles.

I couldn’t find anything similar, but I found below on Instagram.

Outfit 3 (6 minute mark)

Maxine is wearing a matching floral pant and top. She has on orange bauble earrings and a round orange satchel with a close top.

Outfit 4 (9 minute mark)

Maxine wears wide brim teal sun hat, oversized gold sunglasses, teal and purple caftan. She also has a woven satchel bag with daisy embroidered on the side.

Outfit 5 (34 minute mark)

Maxine wears a flowy chiffon maxi skirt and an embellished sleeves crop top. She also pairs it with a feathered cape.

Season 1 Episode 3 – Maxine Saves a Cat
