Since I moved to Texas almost six years ago, I have forgotten how exactly to prepare for the winter months.
While it gets cold here, it’s doesn’t always require a full winter jacket. Usually I wear a sweatshirt over other layers to stay warm. Only when the wind picks up is when I reach for something heavier.
I’m planning a trip during winter and we’ll be walking outside a lot so I need to find a winter jacket. There is so much to see and do on our trip and I’d like to be comfortable and enjoy the outdoor activities.
Sherpa-Lined Parka – Brown

Cozy parka in a wind- and water-resistant nylon exterior fabric, featuring a cozy sherpa-lined interior, recycled fill to protect against the elements. I ordered a small because it was the only size available on the website!
While it did fit, I would say that my normal size is a medium. The small is too small and doesn’t allow for movement. This jacket is really warm. I did not like this color.

Traveler Jacket

The hooded jacket is a wind- and water-resistant traveler fabric. This was definitely not a winter jacket. I included it because I thought it was a winter jacket, but I was mistaken.
This is more like a lounging jacket or to put on after a workout. I purchased a size large, but it was too big on me. It is also oversized, so I think a medium would fit and also be too big. The material is super soft.

Ultra Mini Puffer

The mini puffer is a luxe high shine fabric with wind- and water-resistant properties. I did not like this jacket at all. It is definitely warm, but it squeaks. I never thought I’d have to make comments about the auditory sensations of a coat, but it made my skin crawl. It didn’t even feel nice to touch.

This parka has a swingy A-line shape and silk lining. It fits tighter in the arms and has an a-line shape. It is gorgeous and the material feels very upscale. The gold hardware gives it a luxe aesthetic.
The size 8 is a true to size fit for me. I thought the arms were going to be super tight, but it isn’t like I’m going to hulk right out of them. Gold and black is my favorite color combination and this did not disappoint.

I like the sherpa lining on the hood and the thickness of the material. It makes you feel like you’re a cloud. I ordered this one in a size medium and it fits a little on the larger size.

An asymmetric zipper adds intrigue to a versatile parka made with a water-repellent finish and topped with a warm stand collar to shield you from the cold. I ordered this jacket in a size medium and it fits true to size. It’s definitely not snug and it allows for movement.
While this one fits, I didn’t think it was all that flattering on me. It came almost down to my knees, so if you’re in need of a long coat this one is good.

Hooded Down & Feather Fill Parka with Faux Fur Trim

Bundle up in this hooded parka insulated with plush down-and-feather fill and detailed with soft faux-fur trim. I ordered the jacket in size medium, but it was a little too snug. It zipped up and felt fine, but there wasn’t room for much movement. If you’re going to need to be active while wearing this one, I would size up.
