I finally had a chance to try out the Prime Try Before You Buy while picking out a dress to wear to my friend’s wedding. I have a couple of dresses in my closet to choose from, but I had worn them all before. This was the perfect opportunity to find something new.
What is Prime Wardrobe?
Prime Wardrobe is a feature included with your Amazon Prime membership – available for no extra cost. It allows you to try before you buy select items across women’s, men’s, kids’, and baby clothing, shoes, and accessories.
Not all clothing items are eligible to be added into your Prime Wardrobe box. Even though some items were labeled as eligible while browsing through the dresses, not all options are eligible. Once you select your size/color you will see the “Try before you buy” radio button pop up above the Add to Cart.
How does Prime Wardrobe work?
You get to choose up to eight clothing items to add to your box. Once you receive your box, you have seven days to try on the items. Then you only get charged for the items you keep! They provide a pre-paid return label for you – which is extra convenient.
After I was done trying on all the dresses, I logged back into Amazon to select the items I was going to purchase and the items I planned to return. Once I completed the form, I was then requested to pay for the items I chose to keep. Finally, I put all my items back into the same bag they were delivered with, affixed the pre-paid label to it, then took it to UPS to ship it back.

The material on this dress is definitely see-through. I was wearing a black bra underneath and I could see it in the mirror. I am wearing a size Large, but I could size down in this dress.
BTFBM Dress Floral Print Swing Dress

The A-line on this dress, with an elastic waist, is very flattering. I am wearing a Large and the fabric choice is the floral print apricot. If you have a larger chest, then you’ll need to watch the buttons from the waist up. This was not snug on me, but if I tried to size down, then I think it would be too tight.

This one fit really great! I am only returning it because I don’t need a long-sleeve dress when it’s approaching summer here in Texas. There is a string to wrap around your waist, but it doesn’t attached to the dress. So I didn’t put it on. I am wearing a size Large.
BTFBM Red Floral Print Halter Neck Dress

I picked this dress because I really loved the print. I’m not a big fan of the halter top style, but this one fit well. This one also came with some fabric to wrap around your waist and also didn’t attach to the dress. I am in a size Large.
Adrianna Papell Beaded Blouson Sheath Dress

I am in a size 10 on this one, but it was too tight on my waist. I love all the Gatsby-style sequins, but I would need to size up to have it fit more comfortably. This was also the most expensive dress from this try-on haul.

I debated adding this one to my cart. I thought the florals were very pretty, but I wasn’t sure about the fabric draping in the front. I think the dress gives off a “matron of honor” vibe. I am wearing a size 10.
MITILLY Dark Blue V Neck Ruffle Polka Dot Dress

Actually, I already own this one. And I already wore it to another friend’s wedding in August 2020. I think it’s very flattering and would love the chance to wear it again! It also has pockets. Although I didn’t like the long sleeves of the other MITILLY dress, I do like these half sleeves of this option. I am wearing a size Medium.

Final Thoughts
I narrowed it down to the BTFBM Floral dress and the MITILLY dark blue polka dot dress. Since I’ve already worn the blue polka dot dress before, I’m not sure if iI want to wear it again. I love the light florals of the BTFBM, so I think I’m leaning towards choosing this one.
The Prime Try Before You Buy box was ordered on Saturday, April 10. I received the box Friday, April 16, which is the starting day of my seven day trial period. The process was super easy AND it was super helpful because I didn’t have to stress out about trying to go shopping while I was packing for my upcoming move in a few days. I hope Amazon allows you to have more items to add to the Prime Wardrobe box in the future!
XOXO,
Katie
