Many people say they have sensitive skin and that many beauty products are too abrasive to use on their face. They can cause burning, stinging, irritation at first touch. It really just means that you skin is more prone to react.
My skin is sensitive. I no longer use any products that have scrubbing beads in it because it’s too abrasive and I no longer use alcohol based liquids because of the burning sensation.
I have also recently have been told that I have rosacea and have been testing out various products to reduce the symptoms. I have not gone to a dermatologist yet (I couldn’t get an appointment), but need to reach out again. These are the nine beauty products for sensitive skin that you can buy on Amazon.
Beauty Products For Sensitive Skin
1. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer – $20
The Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer is a daily oil-free face moisturizer. It is recommended for all skin types including sensitive skin. I purchased it to help combat dryness. It is best to be used as a layer underneath your makeup so that the skin absorbs it well. The product also contains UVB SPF 30.
My sensitive skin isn’t irritated when using this product nor made me breakout. I like to use this product at night as an extra moisturizing barrier while I sleep.
2. CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser – $17
The CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser is an all-in-one cleanser that also removes makeup. The texture is a rich cream, but glides on smooth. It doesn’t dry out my skin which is why I like it the best.
It’s also full of ceramides which help fill in the gaps between your skin cells to help seal moisture in. My skincare goals are to avoid sensitizing products, keep my skin moisturized and prevent fine lines and oxidation. This cleanser is definitely gentle!
3. Revlon Oil-Absorbing Volcanic Face Roller, Reusable Facial Skincare Tool – $10
The Revlon oil-absorbing face roller is easy to carry and does exactly what oil blotting papers do. This one is so much better because it’s reusable! You can unscrew the top, remove the real volcanic stone, rinse with warm water and dish soap. Once it’s dry, you can put it back together, thn put it in your bag and go! Plus you’re not creating waste by tossing the blotting papers.
My skin is more sensitive and this did not bother me. I purchased it because after a full day of makeup I can often get oily. This product helps me fix the shine if I don’t have time to fix or readjust my makeup in between events.
4. Paula’s Choice BOOST 10% Niacinamide Booster – $42
As I perused reddit for some skincare assistance, this product was recommended to help relieve redness. It’s supposed to brighten and even out your skin tone, but I have not seen a major difference in my skin. You use this product after cleansing and toning, but before or with your moisturizer.
5. Prosacea – $17
This is a non-prescription gel that is supposed to help treat redness, dryness and irritation. Don’t apply too much, though, because it can sometimes cause my makeup to flake. Prosacea contains sulphur and aloe which is what calms the symptoms of rosacea. The price is really good if you want to try this before going to a doctor and being prescribed a topical.
6. Powder Puffs
When I want to apply some powder, I reach for these puffs. They’re about 3 inches in diameter, so it covers my face fairly quick. The ribbon on the back makes it easy to hold. And you can wash them with the dish detergent in the sink and let air dry. I like to use with my Coty Airspun powder. They’re light and fluffy, which means that they aren’t rough on my skin.
7. Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Corrector – $35
The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair is a color correcting lightweight formula. It comes out of the jar green, but will change color when applied to the skin. The color corrector has some SPF coverage and provides a sheet light coverage that can be worn without an added layer of foundation. It is supposed to cover redness, but I still put foundation on over the top. Make sure your skin is well hydrated before putting this on. It can cause your skin to dry out.
8. Honbay Retro Lace Hand Fan – $9
I bought this hand fan to help speed up the drying of the products on my face. It’ is very pretty and folds up easily. I’m too impatient to wait for toner to dry, so I’ll wave the fan to assist in drying. I’m so impatient!
I only bought this because this is the color of lipstick that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She applies it after she gets in the back of the taxi. I’m a huge Audrey Hepburn fan. And this one has nothing to do with sensitive skin…I just really like the color! It doesn’t dry out my lips.
