I often become unmotivated when I look at a laundry-list of to-do items for my blog. Planning content, scheduling content, writing content – you know the drill.
I am easily distracted when a task seems too daunting at first glance. Do I have the time to write today? The answer is usually yes. Do I have the mental capacity to write today? That answer is usually no.
In order for me to jump over that hurdle, I’ve had to find methods to increase productivity levels. Here are four Amazon purchases that help me increase productivity in my own work.
1. Timer Cube
This timer cube really helps with the time blocking method. If you haven’t heard of time blocking before, it is a time management method. Under this method, you devote a block of time and dedicate it to one task.
For example, you might have to schedules time to write a blog post. With the timer cube, you can schedule 60 minutes for writing. Or, you may want to schedule 15 minutes to spend on social media. Set the cube, then get to work.
Being able to set a maximum amount of time to one task allows you to maximize your schedule. And this timer cube helps keep you set on the time requirements.
2. Moleskine Notebook
There so many benefits of using a planner to master your productivity. I love Moleskine notebooks because they are very simple in design. They offer grid-style paper if you like to use the bullet journal method. They also offer blank paper, lined paper and, my favorite, a planner.
The Moleskine planner helps keep me motivated, organized and on top of my content schedule.
3. Colored Pens
A fun option to add into your daily planner routine is the use of colored pens. This set from BIC offers eight different colors.
I like to use a different color for different tasks. For the main content, like a blog post, I will keep track of these tasks in blue. Then, when I need to schedule in my social media content, I will write with the pink pen in my planner. Creating a color-coding system in your planner allows for proper visualizations of your tasks.
4. Noise Canceling Headphones
I don’t know where I would be at work without a good pair of noise canceling headphones. Since I work in an open cube-style office, I can hear everything my coworkers are doing.
I was so distracted every minute sitting at my desk. But after getting these headphones, I was able to better focus on the task at hand. I am the type of person that likes silence when I’m trying to concentrate. These headphones have allowed me to have silence back at my desk.
