Monthly Life Update: June 2022

Monthly Life Update: June 2022

Stay updated on the latest happenings.

June was quite busy and I was terribly sick! Zack and I went to a cookout and had lunch with my influencer friends. I painted my office on the new color scheme. And Zack installed a ceiling fan in my office. June was way too hot and there was hardly any air flowing in my office. I borrowed a window unit from Zack’s coworker to help, but I was pretty much sticking to my chair in the afternoons. And it’s only going to get hotter this summer!

GOALS

I hit a couple of my monthly goals, which always feels good. You can find my original list of my goals here: #22in2022.

INFLUENCER

I got to visit the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. I had lunch at the opening of Anaya’s Seafood and I attended brunch as JJs Cafe in Dallas with DSI. My friend and I attended the Mad Hatter Tea Party at the beginning of the month.

LTK: I worked on Fourth of July sales, but I haven’t been focusing on it and I didn’t push it. June had 519 clicks and $1.40 open commissions.

BLOG

I changed my logo, but am still exploring colors for my rebrand. I didn’t realize this would be so difficult for me. I wrote ten posts, which is awesome! I also participated a lot in the engagement groups, but I overwhelmed myself and stopped. I also tried to be creative with a weekly email series, but it was a lot of work for something that I didn’t create a strategy for. Oops on me for trying to do everything.

Here’s what I shared on the blog this month:

  1. How to Clean Out Your Closet
  2. The Best Online Platforms to Sell Your Clothes (and Accessories)
  3. Pin Collection Display Board DIY
  4. FabFitFun Summer 2022 Box Review
  5. Mad Hatter’s Gin and Tea Party
  6. How to Support Other Bloggers
  7. How to Use an Editorial Calendar to Improve Your Blog Content
  8. Free places where you can share your blog posts and grow your traffic
  9. June 2022 Reading List – 8 Books
  10. and this Monthly Life Update: June 2022!

SIDE HUSTLE

June 2022 Side Hustle Income

I started adding these snippets on my Instagram account in April, so I think I will be adding a section about my income. I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet to track my blog goals and I’ve been recording the income from LTK, Poshmark, Thredup, Rakuten and any other platforms that I am making money from.

We have to diversify our income streams, right?

June 2022 Transactions

This is a screenshot from my spreadsheet. I finally received payment for two Thredup boxes I sent in January and February. It takes a really long time for them to process, but even if they don’t sell the items, you have an option to donate or take back your unwanted items.

I try to sell my items on Poshmark first, then send a box to ThredUp.

HOVEL SWEET HOVEL

The front yard got a little uplift with some brickwork. We added a flower bed in the front of the house and a circle around the tree. We’ve been waiting since March (I think) to have this installed and it was finally done!

I started and finished painting my office. Since I painted it blue last year, it took almost three coats of primer to cover it. Once I was done painting, Zack installed a ceiling fan. We plan on installing a ceiling fan in the other spare room, but we will hold off on that project for now.

FITNESS

Since I was sick, I was not working out too much. After I started feeling better, then I picked up and tried to get back to a daily schedule. On 6/15 I finished the 5th round of the Bora Bora Bootcamp series. I only had one workout left, which is crazy to me that I left it like that from 5/12. An entire month and I couldn’t finish one workout!

I also completed the Road Trip United States Walking Challenge.

Total Miles: 35.4
Total Hours: 10:11:38
Total Workouts: 27

PERSONAL

I’ve already read 31 books so far this year! That’s 62% of my goal.

XOXO,
Katie

  1. Wow, it seems like you’re completing a lot of your goals! My goal was just 12 books this year as 1 book a month didn’t seem so bad. I’m currently on book 7, so I’m doing well!
